How to waterproof MDF sheets? 01 Sep 2021

Waterproofing the MDF will protect the MDF from any kind of damage and deformity even after exposure to moisture. You can make your MDF board waterproof by painting it. If you paint the surface of the MDF board with ordinary paint, it will only make it resistant to moisture, but if you paint it with moisture-resistant paint, it will create a waterproof layer on the MDF permanently.

Step 1: To paint the MDF, start with a latex primer or a primer designed specifically for MDF. Use a 3/8-inch paint roller to apply the primer and a paintbrush to reach any rare area. Now, let the primer dry for six hours. MDF Board Online UK

Step 2: Use a 3/8-inch roller to apply sealant or water-resistant paint. Use a paintbrush for the purpose of painting the corners and edges. This layer takes about four hours to dry.

Step 3: Now apply the last layer of paint or sealant on your MDF board and let it dry for at least three days.
